We’re so excited to release Set 14: the oo/ew phonics stories. Set 14 introduces /oo/ as in moon, /oo/ as in wood and /ew/ as in new. Set 14 allows kids to review all previous phonics sounds (outlined in Sets 1-13), including, short vowels, consonant digraphs, consonant blends and long vowels. Oo phonics stories help your student practice the long and short oo sounds.
There are a total of eight oo phonics stories in our shop. Our printable books cover a range of topics. The Hoot is a story of a child who woke up to the eerie sounds of an owl hooting. Redwood Trees details the most spectacular features of these West Coast giants. The Gloomy Day is a story about a boy who is bored on a cloudy day, but surprisingly finds a new neighborhood friend to explore with. Each story is designed for struggling k-2 readers, and allows kids to ease into the new oo/ew phonics sounds.
